Setting the table for some last outdoor dinners before the weather turns. Even though I’m usually of the “More is more and less is a bore” fraction, I decided to let the prints shine on their own for this table. The Dramatic Iris print on the tablecloth gives such an array of colors, it’s easy to take one and play with it, like I did with the green glasses and the Chamomile from the garden.
Everything on the table is either inherited, thrifted or from a sustainable production. Decorating boldly but with a conscious eye towards the environmental footprint doesn’t have to be hard — but like everything in life, being mindful helps. The colorful plates from my aunt are the perfect whimsical offset to the more serious print (it was inspired by Dutch still lives after all!). For an evening dinner, I’d add votives in every size and shape; nothing is more beautiful than a candlelit dinner, especially for those last warm evenings before Fall.
